SEOUL – A welcome event was hosted today in Seoul Special Metropolitan City by LOGODI for 13 officials from local governments and institutions across eight countries in Asia and South America.
The officials were selected to participate in LOGODI’s annual Local Administration Development Program, as representatives of local governments or institutions that have partnership agreements with local governments in the Republic of Korea.
During the program, the participants will have the opportunity to meet with their Korean counterparts in a “Local Government Exchange Program.” Over the course of these one to two days, Armenia, Cambodia, Colombia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam will be represented in relation to metropolises, provinces, cities, and districts all over Korea. The exchanges are expected to enable networking between the participants and their partner local governments, and explore avenues to expand on their cooperation.
This year’s program also features an “International Administration Development Workshop,” in which participants will attend a special lecture and conference on e-government and government innovation, with focus on related best practices in Korea.
Certificates of completion will be awarded to each participants at the end of the program, scheduled for Friday, December 1.
The Local Administration Development Program is one of LOGODI’s own programs, funded by official development assistance (ODA) from the Korean Government. It has run independently every year since 2012.
