Tuesday, February 20, 2018
WANJU – LOGODI today welcomed its newly appointed president, Mr. Park Byungho, who now becomes the 54th person to take on the role of head of the institution since its establishment in 1965.
Before his appointment, President Park was serving as Vice Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City. He had earlier worked as the head of the metropolitan government’s Planning & Coordination Bureau, and, before that, as Secretary General of Gwangju Metropolitan Council.
President Park’s career in the senior civil service has been largely based with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in its earlier forms, with separate capacities as Director General for Organization Policy and Administrative System Policy.
Among the pledges the president has already made in preparation for his term included the fostering and sharing of expertise and the strengthening of global capacity, to support international exchange between local governments and institutions.
President Park replaces his predecessor Mr. Bae Jin-hwan, whose presidency concluded yesterday, following a successful term that lasted over one and a half years.
