WANJU – The group of participants from LOGODI’s Capacity Building Program for Senior Officials from Mongolia departed yesterday, after a week of exchanges centered on the revitalization of local tourism industries in Korea and Mongolia.

At a farewell event hosted by LOGODI President Park Byungho on Friday, the delegation of 14—headed by a provincial vice governor and composed of county governors, a provincial department head, and a manager from the Mongolian Tourism Organization—took the opportunity to share reflections on their experience over the past week with LOGODI.

Since their arrival to Korea on March 11, the participants engaged in a total of four lectures, one seminar, and five study and site visits, which included cultural experiences, as tailored to the training needs expressed to LOGODI by the Mongolian Government.

Profs. Sung, Keuk-je, and Kyung-Mo Ahn from Kyung Hee University; Kim, Juyeon, from Shinhan University; and Cho, Young-Ho, from Jeonju Municipal Government shared expertise in their respective subjects, presenting successful case studies from the Korean experience that could assist in identifying the direction for Mongolia’s own regional development through diverse forms of tourism.

The program was this year’s first of international programs at LOGODI. A second “Study Visit Program for NAOG Faculty,” in partnership with Mongolia’s National Academy of Governance (NAOG), is further scheduled to be carried out from May 27 to June 3.
