LIMA – LOGODI’s Director General for Planning reconnected with Peruvian and Palestinian partners and alumni today in Lima, on the sidelines of an international conference on education, training, and research in public administration.
In the morning, Director General Choi Myungkyu met with officials from the National Authority for Civil Service of the Republic of Peru (SERVIR), headed by its Executive President Juan Carlos Cortes Carcelen. They were joined by directors from the National School of Public Administration (ENAP), Mr. Dante Mendoza Antonioli and Mr. Miguel Angel Robles-Recavarren Benites. The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss possibilities for on-site training by LOGODI in Peru, training of trainers, and other customized programs.
LOGODI then hosted a reunion for 16 of its Peruvian alumni from its “Capacity Development Program for Public Administration (Peru),” carried out with the sponsorship of KOICA from 2016 to 2018. Several of those present are in charge of a range of functions at SERVIR, while others represent regional and district municipality governments across Cusco, Huanuco, La Libertad, Tacna, and Ucayali. Held at a local Korean restaurant, the cordial event provided local government officials from around the country with the chance to expand their domestic networks through their shared connection LOGODI.
In the evening, Mr. Choi also met with Mr. Mousa M. M. Hasan, Chairman of Palestine’s General Personnel Council (GPC) and head of the board for the Palestinian National School of Administration (PNSA), along with faculty members of the institution. LOGODI has been supporting PNSA’s establishment through training toward the development of programs, curricula, and an evaluation system.
The exchanges in Lima come amid an international conference jointly organized by the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) and its associated Latin American Group for Public Administration (LAGPA). The 2018 IASIA-LAGPA Joint Conference on the theme of “Globalization, Territories and Integration” commenced yesterday and will feature a series of presentations spread across over a dozen working groups until Thursday.
On behalf of LOGODI, Mr. Choi is scheduled to present tomorrow on the training of local government officials in the globalization era.
