LOGODI meets Panama VP to discuss cooperation

SEOUL – LOGODI President Bae Jin-hwan met today with Panama’s Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, to share insight on the capacity building of Panamanian public officials and explore avenues for the institute to support in this process.
The Vice President was accompanied in the one-hour roundtable by the Ambassador and Consul General to Korea, along with several representatives from Panama’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the heads of international cooperation and special projects and of the ministry’s department for Asia.
In support of LOGODI, Director General Kim Chang-mo of the International Cooperation Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) was also present to contribute to the discussion.
H.E. Saint Malo de Alvarado conveyed her government’s recognition of the importance of public officials’ role in national development as well as her desire to further cooperation with LOGODI toward the strengthening of such. President Bae duly expressed his interest in expanding the institute’s support to Panama and assured his counterparts that he would search for ways in which to do so.
The meeting had been arranged at the formal request of Panama via its embassy and took place at Lotte Hotel in Seoul. It launched the start of a three-day series of high-level engagements by the Vice President in Korea, which is to include separate meetings with Korea’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the 8th FEALAC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Busan.
