WANJU – Around 80 Peruvian officials from the Huanuco Region have taken part in a local workshop on capacity development in public administration.
The event, on August 25, featured several guest speakers including Ms. Nilda Gonzales Ventura, director of the regional government, who are alumni of LOGODI’s “Capacity Development for Public Administration (Peru)” training program carried out in April, sponsored by KOICA.
Ms. Gonzales Ventura had earlier expressed her wish for joint initiatives between Peru and LOGODI for the capacity strengthening of officials in her region, shortly upon return home from her three-week term in Korea.
Topics covered over the course of the five hours included the status of economic development in Korea, the Saemaeul Movement and Peru, HRD, and action plans.
LOGODI President Bae Jin-hwan delivered his regards to workshop attendees via recorded message, in which he congratulated the region for 478 proud years of history and encouraged the broad sharing and discussion of Korea’s experience in development as applicable to Peru. He further pledged to travel to the country along with subject matter experts in the following month, to launch on-site training in the areas of government innovation and disaster management, in response to a formal request by the Government of Peru.
LOGODI’s on-site training in Peru is scheduled for September 14-23, and is expected to bring in as many as 100 officials from across the country.
