LIMA – SERVIR Executive President Juan Carlos Cortes Carcelen conducted an exclusive interview with LOGODI President Bae Jin-hwan at Peru’s national school of public administration on Tuesday.
The one-hour discussion at Escuela Nacional de Administracion Publica (ENAP) was broadcasted internally at SERVIR – the national authority for civil service in Peru – and focused on LOGODI and its role in contributing to the development of local governments and the officials who represent them. The heads of the respective institutions conversed on the importance of, and challenges involved in, public service delivery via e-government, as well as the work required to strengthen the capacity of public officials.
President Bae’s interview followed a series of roundtables, field visits, workshops, and an alumni reunion during LOGODI’s on-site training in Peru, which started last week and comes to a close today. LOGODI has since met with over 100 alumni, officials, and scholars across Lima, Cusco, and Piura, to cover issues related to government innovation, performance management, and disaster management.
LOGODI organizes such programs overseas on an on-demand basis. At the invitation of a host government, Korean subject matter experts are dispatched to conduct sessions tailored to the expressed needs and areas of interest. The engagement with Peru is LOGODI’s second in 2017, after a four-day trip to Mongolia in June.
Since September 15, SERVIR is now LOGODI’s first partner in Latin America through a mutual exchange and cooperative arrangement on the education and training of public officials.
