PHNOM PENH – LOGODI was represented at the Korea-Cambodia Public Administration Cooperation Forum, which took place today in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.

The event saw an attendance of over 100, including Korea’s Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety, Head of the Local Government Development Planning Group under the Presidential Committee on Local Autonomy Development (PCLAD), and President of the National Disaster Management Research Institute, alongside a Secretary of State for Cambodia’s Minister of Interior, Chair of the Committee on Local Autonomy Development, and others.

Organized under the broader scope of cooperation between Korea and ASEAN, the forum served as a space for a range of institutions to present themselves and network with one another, with the aim to cooperate toward the strengthened capacity of local government officials in Cambodia and prepare the region toward its achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2020.

Ms. Shin Soon-nyo, Director of the International Training & Cooperation Division at LOGODI, served on the panel of speakers to introduce LOGODI and its programs and to propose ways in which there could be further partnerships moving forward.

The discussion comes at a crucial time, as the Cambodian government emphasizes the need for training of trainers programs in its country and knowledge sharing with the Korean government toward the establishment of a training institute of its own.

Today’s event follows an alumni reunion between LOGODI and 7 of its program graduates from Cambodia, from as early as the K2H Program in 2008 until last year’s Local Administration Development Program.
