3rd 'global leaders' start program with self-transformation

Friday, February 23, 2018

NAMWON – A group of 28 Korean local government officials today completed a three-day retreat for “self-transformative” training in Namwon City, at the start of this year's Global Leaders Program conducted by LOGODI.

The managerial officials from 21 metropolitan, provincial, city, county, and district governments across the nation delved into what it means to be a global leader, and shared their ideas and visions for the course of the ten-month term ahead and beyond.

A special talk on issues related to multiculturalism in the UK was also delivered by Mr. Martin Fryer, Director of the British Council in Korea. LOGODI has partnered with the British Council for this year's program, in which instructors from the institution will coach the trainees in business English and later administer an Aptis test, designed to assess skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The program is in the third run since its inception, and officially began Wednesday with the commencement ceremony jointly conducted for the year's long-term programs at LOGODI.

Over the coming months, the trainees will take a series of courses in English alongside study in policy, international protocol, public service values, and other areas, and increase their expertise in the events industry (or, “MICE”), international exchange, and the attraction of local investment.

LOGODI's Global Leaders Program was launched in 2016, and has taken place annually since.
