55th LOGODI President sworn in at ceremony in Seoul

WANJU - The Ministry of the Interior and Safety formally appointed Mr. Park Jae-min to his new role as LOGODI's 55th President this morning during a ceremony at the Government Complex in Seoul.

At the end of his swearing in, the incumbent President Park transferred directly to LOGODI in Wanju, where he was welcomed by the Directors General of the Planning and Training Departments along with the directors of the six divisions under their charge. After sharing a lunch, they presented the institute's work agenda and discussed their ideas for the path ahead.

The directors personally introduced their teams one by one to President Park, who also had the opportunity to meet with participants of the Senior Policy Managers Program. This year's program consists of 42 directors general at metropolitan and provincial governments and vice heads of city, county, and district governments across Korea.

President Park embarks on his tasks as leader of Korea's training institute for local government officials after having served as the Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs at Busan Metropolitan City Government. Before that, he was director general for several bureaus at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, in addition to the Ministry of Justice and Seoul Metropolitan Government. He was also a director at the Civil Service Commission and administrator for balanced personnel management at the Office of the President of Korea.

With master's degrees in public policy and public administration from the University of Chicago,U.S.A and Seoul National University, Korea, respectively, President Park brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in carrying out LOGODI's mandate, which includes 254 programs expected to accommodate over 157,600 participants by the end of 2018.
