WANJU – The local government officials from twelve countries completed their training program with LOGODI in Seoul on Friday.

A total of 17 participants were present at the closing ceremony of the “2018 Local Administration Development Program” at Hotel President, where they received certificates of completion for their achievements throughout the program.

LOGODI President Park Jae-min considered the program a success in sharing his nation’s experience, and anticipated closer cooperation between the now alumni—both with one another and with their partner local governments in Korea. He further expressed his desire to see each alum become a “key figure” for his institution as it expands its cooperation across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.

Over the course of the program, participants exchanged insights and ideas on best practice in local administration, and looked at a spectrum of Korean examples in sustainable development, good governance, and administrative service innovation.

In addition to lectures, study and site visits were arranged in Incheon Metropolitan City and Jeonnam Province, including to the United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), Songdo International Business District, Jeonnam Provincial Government, and Suncheonman Bay Wetland Reserve.

LOGODI’s Local Administration Development Program was launched in 2000 and has been run annually since. With the induction of this year’s alumni, close to 300 local government officials from over 50 countries around the world have completed the program to date.
