Peruvian officials start the first round of the second 3-year program.

WANJU – LOGODI carried out the first round of the 3-year (2020-2022) customized program named, Experience and Challenges for the Management of Innovation in the Generation of Public Value, with the sponsorship of KOICA from October 12 to 21, 2020. It is following the MOU between LOGODI and SERVIR in 2017 for a mutual aim toward exchange and cooperation in the education and training of public officials, which is LOGODI’s first MOU in Latin America.

The 19 participants represent Peruvian central and local governments, including the National Authority for Civil Service (SERVIR), with which LOGODI has had a formal partnership since September 2017.

Upon the request of the Peruvian government, this is the second time LOGODI has designed a customized program for the development of the public administration of Peru. Its first 3-year training program has been completed successfully from 2017 to 2019.

At the request of the SERVIR, LOGODI prepared lectures and action plan consulting sessions in a range of subjects touching on e-Government Innovation, Decentralization, HRM system, Good Governance, and Korea’s experience in the fight with COVID-19. These issues came in connection to its national development strategy as well as future preparation for the post coronavirus pandemic.

LOGODI President Lee In-jae stressed the importance of this year’s curriculum, which he hoped would assist the participants in their contribution to the advancement of their regions and nation in the face of an unprecedented crisis. Also, he delivered his blessings for substantive improvement in intergovernmental cooperation among central and local governments in Peru, as guided by the action plans produced by the participants during the program.

Rector Juan Oswaldo Alfaro Bernedo, the National University Villareal Rectorate, expressed his appreciation on behalf of his colleagues for all that the LOGODI team has done for the online training program. He also said that even though we were not able to meet face-to-face, this program has created an even bigger feeling of community-building.

The three-year program is now complete, and the current circumstances bring us a lot of uncertainties and new challenges. However, LOGODI expects to continue its support of Peruvian officials, staying in close contact with its alumni in the country and SERVIR.
