On October 27, LOGODI held its second international forum, LOGODI Global Forum 2020, with heads of international government officials education and training institutes from 10 countries, including Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic of India, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Republic of Union of Myanmar, Republic of Peru, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Senegal, United Republic of Tanzania, and Republic of Uganda.
Last year, LOGODI hosted the first of its kind, LOGODI Global Forum 2019, with around 100 participants in Seoul. This year, it converted the forum into an online discussion forum under the theme, Future Direction of Civil Servant Training for Building the Capacity of Local Governments in the Post-COVID 19 Era.
The participants presented the role and development plan of their institutions, highlighting the process of responding to the COVID-19, preparation for the post-corona era, and the direction of the development of education and training for government officials to strengthen local government capacity in each country.
Professor Seung-jong Lee, Seoul National University, gives a keynote speech, New Normal in Government Officials Training in the Post-COVID-19 Era. Professor Moon Myung-jae, Yonsei University Professor, moderated case presentations and discussions of the participants.
Mr. Chin Young, Minister of the Interior and Safety, expressed his hope that the forum would be a place for active discussions on how to develop capacity building training and education programs for the resilience from the COVID-19 and preemptive preparation for the changes and challenges in the post-corona era
