WANJU - On September 6, 2021, the Local Administration Development Program 2021 has started with the 16 delegates from around the world, such as Cambodia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The purpose of the program is to strengthen the capacity of foreign officials, support the exchange of ideas and scaling-up of good practices, and promote the international collaboration of local governments.
This program is a unique opportunity for the participants to enhance their capacity and leadership in local government innovation and development. For the next five days, they will work with Korean experts to understand South Korea's experiences. LOGODI allocated seven special lectures on topics such as the role of local government officials, good governance, e-government, local economic revitalization, government innovation, sustainable development, change management, HRD for the future society, etc.
Also, the participants will have two case-based webinars, sharing best practices in the local administration of each participating country and Korean local governments. Each participant will present a case study on good government innovation practice in his/her country. Moreover, four delegates of the Korean local governments will also join the second webinar and present their best practices in the same area.
After each presentation, they will discuss and give feedback on each other's case studies. Sharing their experiences and visions, they learn from each other and strive to find solutions for recovery and resilience together. Professor Choe Chang-soo, Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, moderated the webinars and gave the participants constructive commentaries on each case study.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Kim Janghoi, President of LOGODI, expressed his hope that the program will empower the participants to enhance their capacity. He also added, "I hope that this program will serve as a stepping stone to set a path to close cooperative ties between South Korea and your countries and ask your continued support for LOGODI."
