Peruvian Officials Take the Second Round of the Second 3-year Program

From September 28 to October 13, 2021, LOGODI operates the second round of the three-year (2020-2022) customized program for 21 Peruvian government officials, named Experience and Challenges for the Management of Innovation in the Generation of Public Value.
LOGODI developed this three-year training program for the Peruvian governments, including the officials from the National Authority for Civil Service (SERVIR), to build the capacities and skills of the participants at various levels such as individual, organizational and societal. With the sponsorship of KOICA, LOGODI carried out the first round of its kind last year.
Since 2017, LOGODI has had an MOU with the National Authority for Civil Service (SERVIR) under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. It is LOGODI’s first MOU in Latin America with a mutual aim toward exchange and cooperation in the education and training of public officials.
Lately, Latin America has increasingly been asking for cooperation with South Korea on the e-Government system and seeing a growing demand. Since the 1990s, South Korea has introduced various e-government services utilizing ICT infrastructure. Introducing e-government has enhanced the efficiency and transparency of public administration, allowed citizens to enjoy convenient and high-quality services, and improved national competitiveness.
Understanding the generation of the public value process of South Korea from a public management perspective is the purpose of this program. During the program, LOGODI shares South Korea's experiences with public value generation and promotion through smart technologies and strategies in the management process of public administration.
Moreover, the Peruvian government implemented the Civil Service Reform to modernize the public function and strengthen the public officials to serve the citizens systematically. For the next two weeks, the participants and Korean experts will share and discuss the collected information on the actions, challenges, and current difficulties faced by the municipalities in Peru.
For this year's program, LOGODI will offer special lectures in a range of subjects touching on e-Government innovation, decentralization, HRM system, good governance, and South Korea’s experience in the fight with COVID-19. These issues come in connection to the national development strategy and future preparation of the Peruvian government for the post coronavirus pandemic.
Delivering his blessings for substantive improvement in Peru, "There is no doubt that the current circumstances bring us a lot of uncertainties and new challenges. However, I will ensure that LOGODI would continue its support of Peruvian officials, staying in close contact with its alumni in the country and SERVIR," said President Kim Janghoi in his welcome speech at the opening ceremony.
